We often hear that clothes should fit perfectly. This is considered as one of the most important fashion rules. However, Fall/ Winter 2012/ 2013 season offers us to forget about any rules and start experimenting in a BIG way. And when I say BIG I really mean it. Big and Oversize are going to be cool this season! Everything from cocoon coats to billowing trousers will be filling your wardrobe soon and all you will need is a couple of advice on how to make those look stylish.

Jackets, Sweaters, Cardigans and Tops – The variety is even larger here. Puffy rounded sleeves, asymmetrical hemlines, huge eccentric collars – are just a few elements you will have to choose from if you decide to buy an oversized top, jacket or a cardigan. Designers, who have presented their versions of these trendy items are Balenciaga, Chloe, Ports 1961 and others.

Trousers – We haven’t How to wear oversize fashion
Pair your oversize item with something skinny or tight-fitting to create a contrast.
Stay away from accessories to make the focus on an oversize item.
The bigger the better. Use your oversize item one size up. But if you feel you’ve gone too far, use a belt to make sure your figure isn’t swamped.

Alexander McQueen’s Pre-Fall 2012 Shoe collection

When I think about Alexander McQueen’s shoes the first image that comes to my mind is the pair of weird, wild-printed, future-inspired super-high heels that was featured in one of Lady Gaga’s music videos. However, I do know that the brand has a lot more to offer, including stylish pumps and even flat shoes and comfy loafers. And Pre-Fall 2012 collection is not an exception.

20120910-103410.jpg
The range Alexander McQueen label has presented for Pre-Fall 2012 season is very diverse. It is composed of over 50 lovely and at the same time edgy designs, some of which could be perfect for office wear while others are bolder and more youthful.

There are sexy stilettos, peep-toe and lace pumps, eye-catchy Mary-Janes and wedges adorned with golden studs, ankle boots with laces, fur, buckles and zippers, knee-high boots and sandals as well as flats with sculls and printed loafers in Alexander McQueen Pre-Fall 2012 collection.

20120910-103542.jpg
The color scheme of Alexander McQueen Pre-Fall 2012 collection is already quite autumnal with red, wine, dark violet and brown colors dominating over the other hues. There are a lot of black pairs and quite a few deep green ones.

Louis Vuitton Handbags Pre-Fall 2012 Collection:

There are only a few bag styles in Louis Vuitton Pre-Fall 2012 collection but those are enough to provide a fashionista with pieces for every occasion. There are lovely satchels for office wear, shoulder bags to look stylish in streets, bright backpacks, and simple but exquisite clutches.

20120907-171626.jpg

All the bags in Louis Vuitton Pre-Fall 2012 range are made of chic high quality leather. Bright colors are a must. Some items come with mixed hues and colors blocked which looks very interesting and unusual.

Speaking about designs we have to mention they are rather minimalistic especially compared to Louis Vuitton’s signature designs. However, this freshness is good and will definitely be appreciated by customers. See the whole collection in the gallery below.

Edgy Trend of Fall/ Winter 2012/ 2013 – Black Leather

Leather skirts
Leather skirts have been a hit this spring and summer but they were colored red, orange, blue, mint and other trendy hues. For fall and winter 2012/ 2013 leather skirts are mostly black. They come in shape of pencil skirts, asymmetrical ones with hemlines of various lengths or skirts adorned with embroidery or embellished with crystals. However, simple skirts without fussy details will be much more in-demand.

Leather Dresses
Leather dresses have had a huge comeback recently with both stars and ordinary fashionistas wearing them to a variety of events. Mini and straight-line black leather dresses are the two really popular designs which will continue to rein for at least one more season.

20120905-221142.jpg

Leather coats
Black leather coat is quite a practical item for a colder season when rains are normal phenomena and women have to hide under waterproof garments. Leather coats created by designers for the Fall/ Winter 2012/ 2013 fashion season have A or X silhouettes and finish just right at the knee line or a little higher.

Leather Jackets
Leather jackets have been with us forever. Being worn with everything including evening dresses they will keep filling our wardrobes this fall. Black biker jackets, classic pieces, elongated jackets with asymmetrical cuts as well as oversized jackets (Do you remember that oversize is also a trend of the Fall/ Winter 2012/ 2013 season?) which will be trendy during the upcoming season are all hot and chic. Experiment with shapes to find which suits you the best!

Fashion Trends for Fall/ Winter 2012/ 2013 Season

Fall/ Winter 2012/ 2013 Fashion Trend #1: Leisure Suits
Prints are now everywhere. And judging by the latest collections from Prada, Miu Miu, Stella McCartney and other designers the more we use prints the better. One of the key trends of the Fall/Winter 2012/ 2013 season is leisure suits which come fully covered with bold, often bright and eye-catchy, prints. Wear them with either monotone pieces to keep your outfit well-balanced, or pair them with other printed items to make a contrast.

Fall/ Winter 2012/ 2013 Fashion Trend #2: Oriental fashion
Oriental fashion with its extensive use of luxurious fabrics and huge attention to details has always been attractive for Western fashionistas. We like unusual colors, vibrant prints and immaculate tailoring as much as we like the fact Asian women can look sexy and seductive without showing too much.

Fall/ Winter 2012/ 2013 Fashion Trend #3: Intricate design
You might be a fan of simple things and minimalism but there are lots of people who love clothes with intricate design, those which become the focus of your look, those which look special and unique. These are difficult to create but every hour a designer and his team spends on it pays off.

Fall/ Winter 2012/ 2013 Fashion Trend #4: Slim-fit trousers
Slim-fit trousers are not a new design and many of us own a pair or two of them already. However, designers believe we can wear them more often during the Fall/ Winter 2012/ 2013 fashion season. Sport them with loafers or flats shoes for a comfortable look or with sexy pumps to create a glamorous outfit.

Fall/ Winter 2012/ 2013 Fashion Trend #5: Peplums
Peplums have been very popular this summer and they will be as trendy during the Fall/ Winter 2012/ 2013 fashion season. However, you will hardly be able to wear your summer peplums this fall. You don’t want extra color any more. New peplums are darker and classier. They mostly come on cocktail dresses and skirt suits.

Hat Trends for Fall/ Winter 2012/ 2013

Now, majority of women still wear hats to protect their heads and hair from either cold or heat. But the situation is going to change in the Fall/ Winter 2012/ 2013 season because hat is becoming a little more than just a practical item, it is a real and quiet valuable fashion accessory which can either complete your look or help you stand out. And while you might want to wear any kind of hat we are here to tell you which hat styles will be trendy this season. Besides, we will provide you with a few pieces of advice on how and where to wear these styles.

20120901-102511.jpg
Hat Trend #1: Fur hats
You may think that fur is quite predictable when it comes to winter fashion, and of course you will be right. But no one can deny that fur (either genuine or fake) is beautiful and luxurious which makes it popular with women of all ages and fashion tastes. This and some other factors known to designers only have predetermined the fact fur hats will be a great hit during the Fall/ Winter 2012/ 2013 season.

20120901-102557.jpg
Fur hats of the Fall/ Winter 2012/ 2013 fashion season come in a variety of colors. There are hats in dark and neutral tones which are similar to natural fur shades, or bright and eccentric hues which are designed to attract attention.

20120901-102638.jpg

Shapes will differ as well. You can try huge mounted hats like in Marc Jacobs’ Fall/ Winter 2012/ 2013 range or smaller and more elegant Russian-style fur hats like in Temperley London’s collection.

How to wear: Fur hats are quite versatile when it comes to wearability. You don’t have to be travelling to the Antarctic region to wear them. There are almost no restrictions. You can wear fur hats with leather pants, jeans, velvet skirts or prints, with nearly any style of clothing and footwear. For inspiration look at Issa and Rachel Zoe’s collections.

Where to wear: Any place you like or need to go.

Denim Trends for Fall/ Winter 2012/ 2013

20120901-101541.jpg

Colored denim. Colored denim has been in vogue since spring, but if for the warmer seasons designers presented pastel-colored and bright pieces, for Fall/ Winter 2012/ 2013 they advise us to try darker and more practical hues. Brown, burgundy, wine and plum are the best, but you can also experiment with earthy tones or deep blue ones for the same effect.

20120901-101635.jpg

Cropped jeans. Super-long and wide-leg jeans are in the past. Designers offer us a variety of cropped denim as a change. Cut just above the ankle, mid-calf or below the knee, these jeans will look best with high heels. Heels will not only lengthen your silhouette (which is essential with this type of denim), they will also add a bit of glamour and sexiness to your look.

20120901-101814.jpg

Denim jackets. We all wore denim jackets in the 90s and it was cool, but then this piece of clothing somehow disappeared, and we have seen it occasionally through the years. However, it’s time to bring it back and make it a daywear classic. Denim jackets don’t have to be boring, make them stand out by wearing them with items other girls would never dare to mix. Pair it with pants, fancy shirts and youthful tops, try it over an evening dress or a sexy blouse. There are plenty of options, you just have to finds yours.

20120901-101911.jpg

Double denim. While all fashion books and stylists say double denim is a big no-no for a fashionista, designers have another opinion. They have reinvented the double denim trend and made it clean, fresh and modern. Do not restrict yourself to a combination of jeans and matching jackets any more. Experiment with denim shirts, cut-offs and accessories. Change silhouettes, play with colors. Double denim is always risky but if you do everything right that risk will pay off.

20120319-074257.jpg

Spring/ Summer 2012 Shoe trend #1: Metallic toes. Some footwear producers use metallic toes for practical purposes, to make their shoes more durable. But during Spring/ Summer 2012 fashion season metallic toes will also be very trendy and designers decided to bring metallic toes to a new, more glamorous level.

20120319-074341.jpg

Spring/ Summer 2012 Shoe trend #2: Pointed toes. For a couple of seasons in a row rounded toes have been on top of the list. Now finally we see the change towards pointed toes which are much sexier and feminine. Pointed toes will be featured on shoes mostly. Sandals and booties will still have rounded toes.

20120319-074436.jpg
Spring/ Summer 2012 Shoe trend #3: Braided sandals. It’s been a long time since we last saw braided sandals in designer collections. But it seems that during Spring/ Summer 2012 they are making a huge comeback. Bright colors and unusual ways of braiding make these incredibly hot for the approaching season.

Spring/ Summer 2012 Shoe trend #4:Wedges and espadrilles. When D&G showcased their Spring 2011 collection with tons of wedges we realized the style would stay with us for long. For Spring/ Summer 2012 season wedges are still very popular as well as espadrilles. They are less colorful though.

20120319-073822.jpg

Spring/ Summer 2012 Dress Trend #5: Asymmetrical hemlines. Asymmetrical hemline is a big Spring/ Summer 2012 trend which extends not only to dresses but to various tops and coats, too. Mary Katrantzou made a number of fabulous dresses with trains. Missoni cut hemlines to one side, while majority of designers simply re-invented a mullet dress (which has been a hot Winter 2012 trend).

Wrap Belt

20120319-072946.jpg

Before Victoria Beckham started designing she was a style icon and a trendsetter. Women all over the world looked up at her and copied Posh Spice’s looks. When she became a designer nothing changed… Well, actually it did. Ladies started to look at her with even greater interest and respect. So, when she wears something we can be sure that soon her true fans will try the same look. And if she dons something twice or more times, it is definitely going to be a trend. Why am talking about it? Because since Victoria Beckham launched her Fall/ Winter 2012/ 2013 collection she’s been wearing a wrap around leather belt with her almost every outfit. And the item does look stylish!
