14 Fashion Rules That Were Meant To Be Broken
14 Fashion Rules That Were Meant To Be Broken
It’s hard enough getting dressed in the morning without even thinking about so-called “fashion rules”. But throw those in and it’s damn near impossible.
So what’s a girl to do? Here’s an idea: Instead of blindly following all the dated sayings like “don’t wear white about Labor Day” and “never pair blue and black,” why not just march to the beat of your own drum? After all, rules were meant to be broken. (Of course, all of our suggestions are definitely situational, as it’s never wise to show too much cleavage at your job, but wearing a bright bra under a sheer shirt when you’re out is definitely a can-do.)
Here are a few rules we plan on breaking — who’s with us?
1. Don’t mix different prints and patterns. Wearing patterns within the same color palette (but of different sizes) is the perfect way to show people you’re fashionable.

2. Don’t wear a bright bra under a nude shirt. How else would be people know you’re wearing undergarments?!

3. Don’t wear black and blue together. Most people are too scared to wear this color-combo, guaranteeing you’ll stand out from the crowd if you try it.

4. Don’t wear heels if you’re tall. Heels are transformative and completely change the way you carry yourself.

5. Don’t wear white after Labor Day. Winter white is SO beautiful and completely acceptable.

6. Don’t match your shoes and your handbag. Matching both actually makes you look put together with minimal effort.

7. Don’t get a tattoo. Tattoos are now everywhere and very acceptable.

8. Don’t wear socks and sandals together. The Olsen twins are wearing them together and you should, too. Boom.

9. Dress for the job you want, not the job you have. If your job doesn’t require you to wear a suit every day, don’t — feel free to show your personality!

10. Don’t wear mom jeans. High-waisted jeans are actually super-flattering and can make legs look miles long.

11. Don’t buy anything but a designer purse. Often times vintage pieces are not only way more affordable, but also much more unique.

12. Don’t forget to buy an investment piece. Investment pieces don’t need to be designer or cost a small fortune. Figure out what investment means to you and go from there.

13. Don’t show a lot of cleavage. Why not, you only live once?

14. Don’t show a lot of leg. Gams were made for walking, running and showing off.

SPRING/SUMMER DRESSES
Fendi
How many of you have faced this frustrating situation when you look for something which is very vague in your mental image? While going through hundreds of pieces, you realize that nothing hits you. In order to avoid such a waste of time and efforts, you better check what is on trend, before you set off to your fashionable journey. Have a look at the collection of the most fabulous and trendiest dresses of Spring/Summer 2014.
Elie Saab
This white gown in satin with incredible embellishment will take your breath away, I am sure. Just imagine how much it can impress a man who spots it on you. Rich floral design along with the elegant belt create a superior look. It makes me stare at the masterpiece again and again.
Valentin Yudashkin
This marvelous frock in blue atlas looks like an outfit of a queen. Very impressive design as well as the skimmmimg silhoeutte make me wipe off my mouth in strong excitement.
Rebecca Minkoff
Rebecca Minkoff designed a piece , It is so light and inspiring that I couldn’t leave it out. Also, the color played for it – delicate pistachio, one of the Spring/Summer 2014 trends, seems to be a shade of innocence and love.
Dolce & Gabbana
You might question my sight-seeing or color perception, but this is not a mistake. If you take a closer look, you will notice that the dress is actually made out of white fabric. It is the myriad of coin tiles in gold that cover the material, creating an illusion of goldness. I like the design a lot – very unique and catchy. It is the two maestros after all, they always have surprises.
GUCCI FALL 2014: SOPHISTICATED & LACONIC
Gucci opted for a very moderate collection this time. However, it doesn’t mean that the outfits are somewhat boring or outdated. What Gucci decided to stress today has nothing to do with skimming silhouettes or outrageous slits and decollates. Quite the contrary, the line appeared to be incredibly enchanting and sweet. Of course, such an impression is not just a merit of the designer. The models also dedicated a lot of effort to making this day special. I adore all of the images of Gucci Fall/Winter 2014/2015 line and have no doubt that so will you.
The Italian label proved once again that a truly beautiful lady doesn’t have to wear thousands of accessories. The collection is very laconic yet super stylish and cool. I adore the colors featured here: fresh mint, pearl blue, rust brown, dark pistachio, powder pink, terra cotta, olive, violet, lemon yellow as well as burgundy, white and classic black. I believe, Gucci decided to emphasize the beauty of the shades instead of going for extra details and rich embellishment.
DOLCE & GABBANA FALL 2014: LUXURIOUS & ENCHANTING
You will be totally overwhelmed by the colorful prints that are featured in every single outfit. Moreover, it is not just about abstract pattrens that have no meaning. You will spot key-shaped ornamnets, floral motifs, and animal images.
The textures also vary a lot in the brand’s Fall 2014 collection. Fur, atlas, chiffon, jacquard, tweed and satin are all tapped for the newest line. Be it a thick coat in yummy purple ot a magnificent airy gown in lust red, all the outfits presented by Dolce & Gabbana are full of high fashion and great style. You can barely find any other label that would release such adorable designs of a very high quality. The talented duo proves it one more time that if you want a super successful business you need a reliable ally.
I love the fur trim and hood . Its defiantly a piece that will turn heads.
